In 2018, Sean Van Ryzeghem founded his own practice near Ghent, Belgium.

By the use of authentic materials, attention to proportion and space for both mass and void, Sean aims to create a simple yet refined architecture that can best be described as ‘warm minimalism’. For every project he seeks to create a correlation between exterior and interior that is characterized by a profound sense of detail, craftsmanship and geometry, while retaining attention to functionality and durability.

His work is the result of an intense process that starts with an in-depth investigation into the aspirations of the client, the site, the environment, or in the case of renovations; the original character and charm of the existing building. This process requires a lot of time and effort, but always results in unique tailor-made projects.

Sean Van Ryzeghem was born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1990. After graduating as a Civil Engineer – Architect at Ghent University in 2013, he worked with Ronnette Riley Architect (New York City, USA), followed by 360 Architecten (Ghent, BE) , Axel Vervoordt (Antwerp, BE) and Caan Architecten (Ghent, BE)
